ABOUT US
Life is an adventure and we are along for the ride!
We are grateful for the opportunity that we have been given to share in the lives of the beautiful souls that God has blessed us with. We look forward to sharing them with you.
For over 30 years, we have enjoyed raising kittens. We have worked with several breeds and have found our resting place with the RagaMuffin. As gentle giants, their loving and calm nature has won our hearts. Looking into their soulful eyes and angelic faces continues to bring joy.
I have had the experience of being a veterinary technician in addition to working with horses and raising dogs in my youth. I am now retired and enjoying living with my daughter, Tia, my son-in-law, Eric, and my grandchildren. These little hands help raise our kittens to be very tolerant and loving creatures.
In addition to the RagaMuffin family members, we own two dobermans who love the Muffins and children. They bring additional socialization to the kittens to prepare them for future canine friends.
I have also worked in ministry for most of my life with my husband, Norm, who now enjoys living in the presence of the Lord. Though we no longer work for a ministry organization, this passion in my life to minister to others has not faded. We love the families that we meet through raising kittens and hope to continue ministry in a new way. A portion of every adoption fee goes to support ministries around the world.
Blessings, Rinda

About our breeding program
Velvet Muffins is a small, in home breeding program focused on health, personality, and beauty. We aspire to give families the ideal RagaMuffin with the sweet expression and gentle nature they are known for. We believe our kittens are just that.
Our kittens are raised underfoot with little hands and dog noses. They experience socialization from birth and are prepared to meet the children, dogs, and other pets that will welcome them in their new homes. We believe personality is so important that, in addition to health, we guarantee the personality of our kittens in our pet adoption contract. We do have a booklet, “Things you need to know before bringing me home,” that we ask all adoptive homes to read and agree to in order to promote a healthy transition when our babies leave us and move on to their forever homes.
We screen our breeding lines through Optimal Selection DNA testing to ensure that our kittens are negative for all genetic health defects. Our kittens are vaccinated and vet examined by Dr. Erik Tysklind of The Paw Patch Veterinary Hospital prior to leaving our home. We do not release kittens to their new homes until they are fully weaned to solid food and ready to leave their first family; this is after 12 weeks of age and having received two vaccinations. We feed Go cat food and Royal Canin kitten food. We do everything we can to give our babies the best start possible.
Velvet Muffins is registered with the American Cat Fanciers Association (ACFA), the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA), and The RagaMuffin Kitten Breeders Society (TRKBS.)
Our kittens do get adopted quickly, so if you would like to adopt from us, please contact us to fill out an adoptive home questionnaire and to preview our health and personality guarantee contract for pet adoption. We do accept deposits to be on our wait list. We do not adopt any of our kittens with breeding rights, unless you are an approved apprentice breeder for The RagaMuffin Kitten Breeders Society.
We would like to thank Kathy of Kaerik RagaMuffins for sharing her beautiful lines with us and helping us get where we are today. We would also like to thank Dr. Erik Tysklind for his consistent excellence in veterinary care.
